We are really excited to announce the NEXT all day Ruby Country Market on Saturday 2nd June 2012 at the Hatherleigh Market site. This is the day that the Diamond Jubilee Celebrations begin so come along and help to kick start the fun!. Stallholders have been invited to display some red, white and blue so if you really want to get into the swing of things why not come dressed in the same colours!
A real social event is planned and a great day out with an all day live music programme of Local Artists, Attractions of Yesteryear and over 100 local stalls selling 'all kinds of everything', with many of your favourites returning from our first Market (we've had to extend The Food Hall!) A Big Big Thank You to everyone who came along as a visitor or stallholder to our Ruby Country Market at Easter. It was a huge success and even the weather was kind to us, a bit showery first thing but then it managed to stay dry which enabled families to enjoy what was on offer outside without having to run for cover! A bustling, traditional style Market in the heart of the community bringing together growers, producers, traders, artisans and buyers from all over the West Country.
Our 'Design a Logo' competition for the local schools was judged by the Mayor of West Devon Cllr Donald Horn and his wife Mary, who selected a picture by Millie Draper from Hatherleigh C.P School. Millie received a mug with her logo on it and the school has a free stall for fundraising at the next market, well done Millie & thank you to all the schools that took part.
Each of these four markets will support the Devon Air Ambulance who will be in attendance in June with promotional information and collecting tins.
Our remaining market dates for this year are:-

Market opening times - 10am till 4pm. (December Market will be 9am - 2pm)
As Hatherleigh is in the heart of Rural Devon we would like to feature Traditional Crafts & Skills including lacemaking, beekeeping, blacksmithing, quiltmaking, spinning, flower arranging, weaving, drystone walling, hurdlemaking, hedgelaying, cob and thatch building and pottery to name but a few, so if you have any of these skills please come along and share them with us.
We already have bookings from a variety of stallholders and are inviting enquiries from local producers across the range, including:- foods; drink; clothing; books; music; gifts; art; crafts; household items; antiques & vintage; cosmetics; plants & flowers; local businesses and services. So come & join our big, happy extended family that makes up The Ruby Country Market.

The Lilliput Coronation Coach 1839 will be on display at Joanna Goodey's 'notjusthorses' stand at our next Ruby Country Market on June 2nd. A Big Thank you to Joanna & her Family for the work involved in bringing this lovely coach along for us all to enjoy.
